About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Presentation

Lenguas Modernas is a biannual refereed journal. It publishes articles in the fields of acquisition and development of the mother tongue, acquisition and learning of second and foreign languages, language and cognition, and discourse analysis. Contributions can inform of findings originating in experimentation, observation, and analysis in these areas, and also of theories that underlie studies in these fields. Similarly, contributions can report on the state of the art in the areas mentioned above, or focus on proposals that, because of their generality, can contribute to transdisciplinary approaches to the questions under study.

Lenguas Modernas is published by the Department of Linguistics of the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities of the University of Chile. The Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities was founded on the 14th of November 1842.
