Snuff use prevention in adolescents based on motivational behavior and analysis of campaigns in Chile

Abstract

Introduction: Smokers have two more possibilities to die than non smokers. A great list of diseases takes part of the health damages caused by smoking habit. Objective: The objective of this experiment is concentrated in tabacco consumption prevention making an analysis of what are the causes of leaving this habit, especially focus on young people.

Methodology: It was based on literature reviews of articles published in scientific journals and health since 2001, with the search engine snuff consumption and motivation to quit. Discussion: Health professionals mission it is not only focus on heal diseases, it is also concerned about the prevention of them. Tabacco consumption is increasing risks in human being diseases.

Therefore, it is vital to know a better way to deal with tabaquism prevention in young people and to aim a healthy and radical change of behaviour. Conclusion: Anti-smoking campaigns are focused on positive motivation for the elimination of smoking, and can be used as a tool to carry out the prevention of undesirable behaviors that lead to disease in the future.
