Abstract

General studies about beginning teachers are very common both nationally and internationally. However in terms of music education only a handful of studies have dealt with the lives of music teachers at conservatoires. In this paper the opinions of a group of beginning music teachers are analyzed in terms of how they consider their own preparation for teaching at a conservatoire at the starting point of their careers. The purpose is to present a broad view of this subject of music teaching from the perspective of the same people involved in the process.
